Foreign Correspondents’ Club of Thailand
Cover charge for non-members: 300 Baht

The Burma Fund, Policy Think Tank of the National Coalition Government of the Union of Burma ( Burmese Government in Exile), is having a book launch on the report, "The Findings in the Open Heart Letter Campaign" compiled by the 88 Generation student leaders of Burma before they were arrested by the military regime in Aug, 2007.

The Burma Fund published this report on 22 November, 2008 -- the 88th Anniversary of the first historic boycott against British colonial rule by Rangoon University students. This report honors all members of the 88 Generation Students Group who had already served long prison terms but were recently subjected to 65 years prison sentences.

The book launch will be followed by a panel discussion participated by the following speakers.

- Daw Khin Ohmar, Chair, Network for Democratic Development in Burma: The Role of 88 Generation Students in the Burmese democracy movement and their vision for change in Burma

- U Aung Htoo, General Secretary, Burma Lawyers Council: "The Status of Trials in Burma: A Brief Analysis from the Fair Trial Perspective"

- Dr. Thaung Htun, UN Rep: NCGUB: International Response Towards Burma and the Way Forward
