Aung San Suu Kyi: The Fighting Peacock

To celebrate her unwavering commitment to her people’s struggle for freedom, Japanese cartoonist Akazu Mizuha created Aung San Suu Kyi: The Fighting Peacock.
First published in 1994, this manga, or comic book, shows Suu Kyi’s early life and ends with her receiving the Nobel Peace Prize while under house arrest in 1991. This comic book is now available for the first time in English on The Irrawaddy Online.News from Burmese Media
