National Coalition Government of the Union of Burma: Burma Situation Update (March-April 2008)

"The situation in Burma is tense since the Burmese generals are ignoring both the domestic and international opinion and hardheadedly pressing ahead with their plan to approve a draft constitution which was not only written by delegates handpicked by them but also crafted to legitimize military rule for decades to come.

All major political parties and political forces inside as well as outside the country have expressed their opposition against the military junta's national referendum and the draft constitution and have vowed either to vote "No" or to destroy the process... "
