APPPB Update: Burma in Year 2008
Dear Friends,
Warm greeting from the APPPB Secretariat in a new year with lots of hope and inspiration to work even harder as this is 2008 and this year will see 20th anniversary of the 8.8.88 Uprising in which as many as 3,000 pro-democracy markers and protesters were killed within the cause of six month period in 1988.
We got a New Year’s wish from the Danish Burma Committee which said “Envisioning an unstoppable snow ball rolling down a hill getting bigger and bigger we have high hopes that the demonstrations in August and September will be the snow ball enhancing Burma’s democratic transition process... and we will do our best to support this development and keep the snow balls rolling.”
